Struggling Against Patriarchy Female Characters in Manju Kapurs Home
Name of Author :
Rashmi H N
Abstract:
This article explores how Kapurs narrative weaves together themes of domesticity, independence, and female agency, challenging conventional gender dynamics. By analyzing specific moments of resistance and resilience among the female characters, this study reveals Kapurs critique of patriarchal oppression and the complex negotiation of identity in contemporary India. Through a close examination of character development and thematic motifs, this analysis aims to shed light on Kapurs nuanced portrayal of women struggling against and occasionally succumbing to the patriarchal forces that shape their lives.
