Abstract: William Shakespeare is a national institution next only to the Bible. He has become a household word with English students. This great dramatists little known life story is replete with speculations, still uncertain and insufficient. We have even less information about his contemporaries like Kyd, the author of the most famous tragedy of the age. Even the celebrated author Marlowes death is a mystery for readers. Many legends are woven around his personality. Some have even put questions on his very name, so some glaring black spots on his character are not accepted to be true.
