Abstract: The cooperative movement has been a big boon for the financially less privileged. With a valid banking license from the Reserve Bank of India, cooperative institutions-turned-banks have catered to the needs of such segment of the society that requires financing in small amounts. The state of Karnataka has about Rs. 35000 Crores worth of deposits for 2017 with Urban Cooperative Banks.
