Reflections of Socio-Political Realities in the Select Poems of Faiz Ahmad Faiz

Abstract: Faiz Ahmad Faiz was a Pakistani poet and author of Urdu and Punjabi literature. He was one of the celebrated, popular, and influential Urdu writers of his time. His works and ideas remain significantly influential today in Pakistan and in other parts of the world. Early poetry of Faiz focuses on romantic love, beauty and heartbreak. In due course he started to write poems based on themes such as justice, rebellion, politics, and the interconnectedness of humanity. This paper will deal with the theme of the socio political realities in the select poems of Faiz Ahmad.
