Language and Identity in Paul Austers New York Trilogy A Psycholinguistic Exploration
Name of Author :
Priyadharshini.S
Abstract:
The intriguing discipline of psycholinguistics investigates how language and the mind interact together. It explores how humans create, understand, and acquire language, illuminating the cognitive processes that support our capacity for communication. This interdisciplinary research integrates components of psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, and cognitive science to reveal the mechanisms underlying language processing and reveal the mysticism surrounding the human capacity for language. In this succinct introduction, we will discuss the fundamental issues that psycholinguistics aims to address and the key ideas that underpin its investigation. Psycholinguistics offers a glimpse into the extraordinary functioning of the human brain and its relationship to our most fundamental form of expression: language, from the processes of speech production to the complexity of language acquisition.
