Abstract:
Feminism is one of the most influential movements in history which made impact on literature. Feminist literature shows how the women should be equally treated. In Indian society, women are under the social conditions and religious setups. Indian women have been facing inequalities, oppression, violence. Indian writers portrays feminism through their work. Patriarchy leads to women suffering both physically and psychologically. Shashi Tharoors Riot is an example of feminist literature. Riot is a social commentary of Indian history and politics. A love story is behind the communal violence and cultural conflicts.
