Uncanny Geopolitical Morphology: A Foucauldian Exploration of Social Factions within Amish Tripathi Shiva Trilogy
Name of Author :
R Vijay Karthic, Dr. R Jeya Sundara Raj
Abstract:
Amish Tripathis Shiva Trilogy, comprising The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas, and The Oath of the Vayuputras, constitutes a literary universe that deftly weaves elements of mythology, history, and fiction into a captivating narrative. While the trilogy is primarily known for its portrayal of the Hindu deity Shiva and his epic adventures, it also serves as a rich canvas for exploring the intricacies of social factions and power dynamics within the fictionalized world it creates. In this extensive analysis, the researcher embarks on an intellectual journey that draws upon the Foucauldian framework to delve deep into the uncanny geopolitical morphology of social factions within the Shiva Trilogy. To initiate this Foucauldian analysis, it is crucial to contextualize the work within Michel Foucaults theoretical framework. Foucaults oeuvre, particularly his notions of power, discipline, and surveillance, provides a robust lens through which the intricacies of social factions can be examined. The Foucauldian perspective encourages an exploration of how power operates, how it is wielded and resisted, and how it intersects with knowledge and control. As such, this research endeavours to scrutinize the social factions within the Shiva Trilogy through the Foucauldian concepts of panopticism, discipline, and the production of knowledge.
