Exploring Gendered Voices: A Comparative Study of Male and Female Writers in 21st-Century Global Fiction
Name of Author :
Dr. P. Prasanna
Abstract:
This study examines the gendered perspectives in 21st-century global literature via a comparative analysis of male and female writers. It analyses the impact of gender on narrative strategies, character development, thematic emphasis, and the representation of social and cultural concerns. The research examines whether male and female authors use distinct narrative voices, such as first-person or omniscient viewpoints, and whether these selections signify divergent gendered experiences. Furthermore, it explores the characterisation of protagonists, emphasising the construction and contestation of masculinity and gender across many literary traditions. The study examines how male and female writers address themes such as power, identity, love, and political/social justice, analysing the influence of gender on the portrayal of these topics. The research seeks to provide insights on the influence of gender on modern fiction and its capacity to reflect and contest cultural norms, drawing from many worldwide viewpoints. The results enhance feminist literary criticism, masculinity studies, and the comprehensive comprehension of gendered literary practices in the globalised context of 21st-century literature.
