Sreelekshmi J
Abstract:
The quest hero in Herman Hesse?s novel Siddhartha is one who sets out in quest of inner peace and spiritual fulfillment to overcome his sense of disillusionment and moral lacking that tormented him in his mundane ways of life. Siddhartha realizes that the ultimate goal of every human being was spiritual growth and attainment of „nirvana?. However, his society is aggressively orthodox and resists any kind of change.
