Recasting Gender Roles in Select Short Stories of Vaideh

Abstract:
Women quest for identity is an important paradigm in modern Indian literature. In the Vaidehi?s influential stories where women are characterised by their gender and their body. Vaidehi?s stories articulate the trajectories from the dominant power structure would control women from politically and economically. Gender roles in select texts of Vaidehi deals with the discrimination and depicts how the roots of the subtleties of a women life. The present research paper aims to examine and redefines male domination and female subservience.
