Abstract:
Sisterhood is viewed by critics as an institution and narrative structure in contemporary Asian American women's literature. Sisterhood is one where women choose to stand in solidarity to combat the sexism, racism and classism that oppress women around the world. Amy Tan, a prominent spokesperson of South Asian women's issues, especially the immigrants uses sisterhood as a structure for the representation and containment of cultural differences among women
