Familial Cohesion through Women in the select novels of Barbara Kingsolver.

Abstract:
Literature portrays various kinds of families fashioned by great legendary writers of the past and present. In American Literature, women profoundly play a major role in bonding familial relationships. Barbara Kingsolver is the best-selling American writer who emerged into the literary realm during the 1980s. Kingsolver‟s protagonists are mostly courageous and spirited women moving towards morality and welfare. This paper makes a study on the altruistic nature of the women characters that makes an effort to bond the family for the happiness of others. The three novels chosen for study are Pigs In Heaven (1993), Prodigal Summer (2000) and Unsheltered (2018).
