A Study of Professional Competency of Senior Secondary School Teachers in Relation to their Demographic Variables

Abstract:
The objective of the study was to find out the level of Professional Competency of Senior Secondary School Teachers regarding their gender, stream, and locality. The sample of the study consisted of 100 Senior Secondary School Teachers. The investigator has used the Descriptive Survey method. The collected data was analyzed with the help of Mean, SD, and t-test. The result of this study shows that there is a significant difference in the level of professional competency of Senior Secondary School Teachers in relation to their gender and locality. Female senior secondary school teachers of West Bengal have a high level of professional competency than male teachers and urban senior secondary school teachers have a high level of professional competency than rural teachers. This study also finds that there is no significant difference in the level of professional Competency of Arts and Science Senior Secondary school Teachers of West Bengal.
