It concerns the field of Health Humanities and American Literature. The selected work, Elena Vanishing: A Memoir (2015) by Elena and Clare B. Dunkle depicts the typical bitter life journey of an anorexic girl, Elena. Anorexia Nervosa is one of the eating disorders. The affected people have a prolonged fear of gaining weight. Despite this fear, they started to reduce their calorie intake. It leads to chronic illness. This article will help to bring out the psyche of anorexic people and their image-consciousness.
