Rejuvenation of Native American Tribal Culture – With Deconstruction & Re-Construction of Flora & Fauna in The Antelope Wife & Solar Storms
Name of Author :
Dr. B Sridevi, Dr. G Immanuel
Abstract:
Native American tribal culture is renowned for its ancestral heritage, oral tradition and myths. Through telling and re-telling of myths, the aboriginals have imparted their cultural beliefs and practices to the young generations. After the intrusion of Whites, the natives have been struggling to establish their identity and tribal culture through their writings. This paper primarily focuses on how the tribal people with an able assistance of nature revive their lost tribal identity. It is evidently viewed in Louise Erdrichs The Antelope Wife and Linda Hogans The Solar Storms, which are the prominent works of Native American literature. This paper also discusses on how nature and its components are deeply associated with the lives of tribes and how the flora and fauna revive and rejuvenate the lost glory of the tribal land.
