Narrating Metafiction: Reading Tibor Fischers The Thought Gang

Abstract: The question of Metafiction rises in the context of the postmodern narrative, in which fictional writing is carried out self-consciously and systematically, posing questions about the relationship between fiction and reality. This kind of narration with the self-consciousness and systematic posing of questions in relation to postmodernity and postmodern fiction can be examined in Tibor Fischers The Thought Gang (1994). The present paper attempts to examine the narration from the postmodern point of view by tracing how Fischer utilizes postmodernity in constructing postmodern fiction and Metafiction.
