Name of Author :
Sneha Venugopalan
Abstract:
In the 21st century we are to witness the climax of human progress. We have been taught that the history of our species is the step by step progress from the dark caves of prehistoric period to the vistas of everlasting cosmos by learning, taming and ruling the elements and resources of nature. Today, however, the world faces a series of disasters, all pointing to the destruction of the planet. Depletion of natural resources, global warming, ozone holes, climatic changes, all sorts of pollution, thickening of the Red Data Book, unprecedented rate of the melting of the glaciers, the rise of sea-level and so on.
