Language Acquisition: Enhancing Learning of Second Language

Abstract:
Research shows many problems and ambiguities of second language acquisition (SLA), which have made learners and readers worldwide unsatisfied. Therefore, this study attempts to highlight language acquisition and its relevance in learning second language comprehensively. The present study provides the explanations of first language acquisition pertaining to acquire second language. The review of related literature sets the ground for identifying the various stage that a learner goes through in acquiring second language. The study has advantage to the learner that could be an assist to English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This study also discusses various approaches for language learning and the role of teacher in their classrooms for enabling the learners in acquiring second language. The study reveals the most significant fact that SLA remains the basis for learning EFL to the learners to a great extent thereby preparing them for the future which precisely connected to second language acquisition (SLA) and largely to applied linguistics.
