Nonfictions as an Ordinary Persons Guide to Realism: A Study on Arundhati Roy
Name of Author :
Shyla M, Dr J Sheila
Abstract:
Arundhati Roy is a socially active writer who always make it a point to express her views about the realities occurring around her. Most of her essays are the printed and published versions of the orations given out to live audience. She is always there for the ordinary person who struggles to find their peace in a powerful public system. She used to respond to the injustices done to the common man around her, thereby being the voice of the voiceless. Arundhati Roy is a person who opines about the incidents happening both in and out of India. This paper intends to make an analysis of how the nonfictions of Arundhati Roy help the readers to get a clear picture of the realities happening around them. The study is based on the essays titled, Public Power in the Age of Empire and Peace and the New Corporate Liberation Theology.
