De Colonialisation of Identity in the Romesh Gunesekera s The Reef

Abstract: Decolonized people develop a post colonial identity based on cultural interactions between different people. It deeply shows the suppression and the suffering of the colonalised people. Romesh Gunesekera was one of the greatest writer inscribed about the colonialisation in Srilanka and short listed for the Man Booker Prize for his novel “The Reef”. This paper reveals Imperialism and Colonial rule are projected keenly. It shows how the protoganist Triton suffers as a refugee.
