Abstract:
Khushwant Singh’s one of the finest historian, novelist, political commentator, social critic and an out standing observer. He is known as India’s distinguished men of letters with an international reputation and being significant post- colonial writer in English language. He is known for his clearsecularism with deep passion. The comparison of social and behavioural traits of people from India and west is full of outstanding wit. This paper is an attempt to study partition and its impact on Indian English novel after the independence. The novel deals about partition of India and Pakistan. Khushwant Singhs Train to Pakistan explained the relationship between history, memory and literary responses between Indian Bangladesh and Pakistan. Singh used train as the symbol of partition horror and mass displacement.
