Abstract:
Literature represents the culture and tradition of a language and people, and it is generally defined as writing with artistic merit. British literature is associated with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands. This literature includes literatures from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The whole of Ireland is politically part of the United Kingdom between January 1801 and December 1922, it can be controversial to describe Irish literature as British.
