Mahabharatha Negotiations in Indian Cultural Background A New Historicist Analysis
Name of Author :
Jijeesh .T.K
Abstract:
There is a great mutual negotiation between Indian Culture and the Mahabharatha Epic. Many literary writings, art forms, rituals etc. were raised in India on the basis of Mahabharatha. Mahabharatha is one of the two great epics of India. It is not an exaggeration to say that the persons and incidents portrayed in the great literature of a people influence national character no less potentially than the actual heroes and events cherished in its history. In the moving history of India, from time immemorial great minds have been formed and nourished and touched to heroic deeds by Mahabharatha and Ramayana. In most Indian homes, children formerly learnt these immortal stories as they learnt their mother tongue. They influence Indian mind. This mutual connection between India and Mahabharatha is analyzed here in a new historicist way.
