Abstract:
In ancient period India was known as World Guru. Its reason was quality of our education and Indians were able to face the life’s problem successfully and lived happily. According to our ancient Vedas, there are four Purusharths of Life Religion Dharma, Wealth Artha, Desire Kama, and Salvation Moksha. These give us mantras of successful life. So that aim of our ancient education was to achieve Salvation. For achieving this aim, teacher taught the lesson from the real life situation and gave extra activities for practicing the lesson. Thus, students learnt to face the problems of daily life. But, we have lost our position of World Guru due to decreasing of educational quality at present. At this time, all round development of the personality is the aim of our education which is also based on four Purusharthas and co-curricular activities also similar to extra activities. However, we are not able to achieve our educational aim so far and make balanced personality of the child. In this paper, I am going to discuss about these things.
