Critically Understanding POCSO Act: Incorporating “Skin To Skin” Judgment to Expanding the Scope of POCSO
Name of Author :
Pulak Symon
Abstract:
The road to recognition of comprehensive development of human rights demands disemboguing child protection laws in it. The Constitution of India has laws that protect the rights of the child but to critique its effectiveness will be of some dejection. Children are tender and immature considering their age marking them vulnerable. It is of quintessence that special laws are enforced to safeguard their rights. The birth of POCSO Act 2012 eventually was a major leap from anarchy against child laws. It was embraced by the citizens but has been criticised as it burgeoned. Regular judicial interventions are a necessity to plug the lacunae. But how effective are the Judges to handle the POCSO cases are a matter of concern.
