The Instant Need of Feminist Ideas in Marge Piercy’s Barbie Doll.

Abstract:
The poem Barbie Doll written by an American poet Marge Piercy accuses the then American society which compels women to have a Barbie shaped body structure. A woman in the society is treated as an object even after her death. The pity state of a woman from her birth to death is apparently expounded. The poem mainly targets on the dominance of men over women which is a wicked act imposed on women. The feminist view of the poem is analysed and the patriarchal attitude of the society is clearly explained.
