Name of Author :
Saranya S
Abstract:
Regardless of numerous forces attempting to tame it by accusing it of being overused and cliche, ecofeminism has always been a matter of controversy. Atrocities against women and nature, on the other hand, have not completely wiped out, and they continue to thrive in various forms in popular culture like movies. In a patriarchal society like India, religion and religious rituals have long been used as a justification to treat women badly. Bulbbul, a film, is a good example of this type of story. Bulbbul is a supernatural thriller written and directed by Anvita Dutt and it was released in 2020 in the Hindi film industry. The film is a perfect example of ecofeminist theology. The film depicts the intricate linings of a wealthy Bengali estate and the role of women in these households. Along with patriarchy, the film also gives glimpses into a broader ecological issue that exists in today’s world that is the alarming loss of habitat
