Work Life Balance and Employee Commitment- A study among Female IT Professionals

Abstract:
This study aims to understand the relationship between work-life balance and employee commitment among Female IT professionals. It also seeks to determine the influence of demographic factors on employee commitment among the respondents. The data relating to the study has been collected from professionals working in IT companies in Bengaluru city. The data was collected using a seven-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to a sample of 170 respondents. Descriptive and Inferential statistics were used to analyse the data obtained. The correlation analysis result indicated a strong positive correlation between work-life balance and employee commitment. The study finds no association between work-life balance with marital status; hence Null hypothesis was rejected; however, result hypothesis 4 found a significant relationship between organisational commitments. The result highlights the importance of implementing work-life balance programs by employers in IT firms as balanced work-life results in higher employee commitment levels.
