Abstract:
Children literature consists of books varying from stories, magazines to poems. It comprises of the written texts accompanied by illustration to instruct and entertain the young readers. At present, children books are looked up with admiration as it inculcates human values in the mind of budding readers. Childrens literature also serves as a vehicle to import cultural values. Kao Kalia Yang is a Hmong American writer. She has published memoirs and five children books. She has written these children books to preserve the erased history of Hmongs –an ethnic minority. She takes care that the history and tradition of Hmongs are seeded into the future generations.
