Jhumpa Lahiris The Lowland Novel and Hybridity

Abstract:
Postcolonial theory is used to analyze Jhumpa Lahiris work The Lowlands hybridity. The study focused on hybridity culture in the novel and how it affected the characters. This study applied descriptive analysis to explain difficulties via narrative and analysis. This research used postcolonial theory of Hommi Bhabas hybridity to understand the hybridity, or mix of two or more cultures, in the primary data and compare it to the real condition in India from library research and internet search about important events related to postcolonialism theory about the postcolonial era that effected Indian culture in the novel and caused a hybrid culture.
