Abstract:
J.M.Coetzee, a Booker Prize winner and a Noble Prize Awardee is one of the eminent writers of South Africa. J. M. Coetzees Foe is considered as a rewriting of Daniel Defoes Robinson Crusoe. But, Coetzees Foe has been narrated by the female protagonist and narrator of the story, Susan Barton, a Castaway. Susans quest for her Identity as a woman, her humanitarian approach towards a Negro boy, evinces her motherly and caring attitude as a woman.
