Transforming Academic Writing: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Scholarly Communication and Research

Abstract: The present era is technological since the world is witnessing a technological revolution in all life aspects. The technology has been integrated into education to facilitate and enhance the education quality. It helps academics and scholars in their academic careers, including academic writing. This paper aims to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in transforming academic writing, with a specific focus on its impact on scholarly communication and research. For this, a descriptive qualitative method has been adopted to draw the objective of the study. This paper discusses the advantages of AI applications in academic writing and explores some of the existing AI based platforms. The results have shown that AI applications such as Grammarly, Qualibot, Google Translate, ChatGpt, and many more have an undeniable role in academic writing at grammar checking, spelling checking, paraphrasing, rewriting, etc.
